The Most Evil Men in History





Introduction:
It’s hard to imagine how any single human being could be so evil and inflict the horror on mankind. But throughout history, we find these people over and over. This task is devoted to the exploration of the evilest of them all!

Do Both Tasks #1, #2, #3 and #4 Below:
1. Fly to the lost city for each person (found in column 2 below) to answer the first Google Earth question listed in the table
2. Using the linked websites, answer the questions about this person and the autocracies they committed.
3. Watch 1 or 2 videos and explore the linked websites for each evil person and justify why this person belongs on this list.
4. Rank the people from most evil and choose someone NOT listed below to nominate for the list. Justify your decision and add this to your Google Earth NoteCard. If you write a clue and find a location on Google Earth representing that person or significant event the prompted your nomination, prepare to receive some hefty extra credit.

Fly to "Auschwitz, Poland". There you will find that the former extermination camp is now a Memorial Museum (so the world will never forget what happened there). Zoom into the center of the musuem, look at the pictures, and find the two most disturbing. Take a screenshot of these and include them in your notecards.

Near the end of WWII, Hitler and his wife (Ava Braun) knew their defeat was close at hand. Rather than being captured, they chose to cowardly end their own lives.

Fly to the "Fuherbunker" in Germany and take an aerial screenshot of the building. The rooms below the building, where Hitler's body was found, are sealed off.

Bashor Al-Asid

Currently, over 3 MILLION Syrians have been forced to leave their homes in Syria due to violence against them at the hands of Al-Asid's government army.

Open Google Earth and use the Ruler tool to find the distance between Syria and Germany (one of the few countries welcoming the refugees). Take a screenshot of the ruler measuing this distance and record that distance under your screenshot.
Bashor Al-Asid became "president" of Syria when he father died. He promised that Syria would become a democracy, but his economic reforms and lust for power soon showed he was a liar. Soon, there was a civil war in Syria between Al-Asid's government (who wanted to retain power) and the citizens (who wanted democracy).
